The History of Betty Anne’s Brittle

The legacy of Betty Anne’s Brittle originated in 1946 when my mom, Betty Anne Smith, developed the recipe for this delicious Peanut Brittle. I, Daniel Smith, have been lucky enough to indulge in this tasty treat my entire life!

After comparing my mom’s Brittle to the many other Peanut Brittles on the market, my wife and I encouraged my mom to sell her tasty delight. Although flattered, she did not want to go though the hassle of selling her Peanut Brittle. She generously shared her recipe, and in doing so, we decided to honor her by naming this company Betty Anne’s Homemade Gourmet Peanut Brittle and it went from a family treat to a Texas favorite.

We have been selling Betty Anne’s Brittle in Canton since November 2009 — first in the grass on row 86 and eventually landing in the Original Pavilion 3, also known as the Walk on the Creek, (at the end of Original Pavilion 2. Look for us in front of The Gourmet Kitchen Shoppe. Stop by for an unforgettable taste of her famous brittle. Start with the original Peanut Brittle, or try one of our new versions — Pecan, Cashew or even Plain Brittle for you non-nut lovers.
