| In early western days cattlemen would drive their cattle to markets in Kansas City and St. Louis along with sod busters from the plains of Oklahoma and Kansas. They would always bring presents back to their wives. Since St. Louis was known as the "Gateway of the West", most of the western jewelry had a Victorian flair. Turquoise and silver were not considered the jewelry of the west until the introduction of the pony soldier to the Arizona Territory. Much of these facts were lost in later years as turquoise and silver became more valuable jewelry. Many women still had Western Victorian in their jewelry boxes and passed them along as heirlooms, cameos, and valuable rings. |
| Our Western
Victorian Jewelry is all natural stone semi precious with
Swarovski crystal on hand-cut Tandy leather. All selections come with matching necklace, bracelet, and earrings |
